In Nov 2010, Hawkeye UAV Ltd undertook a design study to produce a world winning UAV optimised to do one mission extremely well – commercial ortho mapping missions. After a year of commercial experience using the NZDF Defence Technology Agency's Kahu UAV design, a more focused solution needed to be found for efficient commercial use.
